Sony a7 IV or Canon R6 Mark II for wedding work in 2026?
Second shooter moving up to primary next season. Budget covers either body plus a 24-70 f/2.8. Most of my work is dim reception halls. Which system would you commit to, and why?

I shoot both at work. The R6 II autofocus in dark receptions is a step ahead — it locks in situations where my a7 IV hunts. But the a7 IV gives you 33MP, which matters if you crop for albums. If your reception halls are genuinely dark, take the Canon.
Also worth pricing the whole system, not the body. Second-hand Sony glass is deeper and cheaper right now.
